In this case study, an engineer encountered slow backup of firmware modules and slight noises in a Seagate Rosewood portable hard drive, model number ST2000LM007-1R8174. Although it appeared to be head damage, it was actually not. Error messages included Rst 0x80M, TCC:0014:001D EMCDataErr:0000000C, and FIS34. By utilising repair tools, the firmware failure was easily resolved, making the ST2000LM007 patient HDD repaired.
